Born in Kyoto, Yoshikatsu Ikeuchi grew up in an environment where creative expression was a natural part of everyday life. He began sharing his own music online while still in high school, marking the start of his professional creative practice. Since then, he has composed extensively, including music for the film Rage (Ikari), scored by Ryuichi Sakamoto, as well as a commemorative work for the relocation of Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs to Kyoto.

His artistic practice focuses on the gap between different modes of perception—particularly “seeing” and “hearing”—and on what emerges in the space between them. He has presented solo exhibitions across Asia, including in Hong Kong, Seoul, Bangkok, and Taiwan. In 2023, he was appointed Kyoto Prefecture Cultural and Tourism Ambassador. In recent years, he has also launched collaborative initiatives with Kyoto Prefecture to support and foster emerging artists.
